Advancement
Inferni's rank checks are performed roughly once per month. Usually, Inferni's ranking policy is entirely based on In Character activity—i.e., how many times you post between our activity checks generally decides your increase in rank. Sometimes, IC circumstances or even specialized OOC circumstances will dictate a change in activity policy for a specific individual, but this is rare and usually for plot or absence related reasons.
Let us know if a particular tier is suited for your character—it helps us know where to rank you!
Inferni does, however, have a very specialized In Character jobs system. It's very helpful if you let us know if a particular tier the clan interests you or is suited for your character—it helps us know where to rank you!
If you have an aggressive, battle-worn character, maybe the Bellum (war) tier would be right for you. If you have a character with a green thumb, the Miscellus (miscellaneous) tier's Aedile (gardener) rank would be good for you.
Discentes
| Discentes Ranks | |
| Ranks: | Tirones, Quintus, Tirones Minor, Outsider |
The Tirones subordinate rank is the default rank for all new recruits; Inferni generally does not accept members at anything more or less than Tirones. The Quintus rank is usually reserved for punishemnt or extremely low activity; it usually time to be promoted out of this rank. Outsiders are not able to advance through the ranks.
- At least five (5) posts in a month period is enough to advance from the Discentes to the Milites ranks.
Milites Ranks
| Milites Ranks | |
| Ranks: | Equites, Discentes, Praeses |
During the time your character is within the Milites ranks, it's a very good idea to take a look at the different tiers of Inferni's ranks and figure out which pathway you'd like to take. Angling for a particular Immunes rank is highly suggested; you can go so far as to Private Message your leader with threads displaying your character's aptitude for a job-related skill!
- At least eight (8) posts in a month period is enough to advance from the Milites ranks.
- Completion of two unique threads with different members of the Immunes tier or above.
Immunes
| Immunes Ranks | |
| Ranks: | Miscellus, Hastati, Aedile, Scorpius, Vigiles, Imaginifer |
For promotion, the consistency of your activity may also be evaluated; if you are sporadic with posts, it's a good idea to work on consistency rather than explosive activity followed by long periods of silence. You should also practice your In Character job—if you're a Vigiles, go and scout the borders! If you're a Scorpius, try to organize a small hunt or even just track prey with another member of the clan. Don't worry if it's not working out with your particular skill—you can always trade jobs.
- In the upper Immunes tiers, ten (10) posts per month are required for promotion.
- Completion three unique threads with different members of the Immunes tier or above.
- Completion of two threads with the master of your tier; if there is none, the Legatus can substitute the task. One of these threads should include the required task of your intended rank.
Diocese
| Diocese Ranks | |
| Ranks: | Hydra, Imperium, Caelum |
Consistency of activity is also evaluated more severely; longevity of membership also plays a slight factor. In order to maintain a rank in the Diocese, you should post at least ten (10) posts per month. We won't demote you for posting 9 posts one month, but if your numbers are consistently low, you may receive a bump downwards. It's very helpful when you act in your rank's duties and interact with members of the lower Auxilia tier of your rank here (e.g., for a Hydra to thread with a Hastati and train).
- The Diocese ranks require at least fifteen (15) posts per month to achieve promotion.
- Completion five unique threads with different members of the Immunes tier or above.
- Completion of three threads with the master of your tier; if there is none, the Legatus can substitute the task.
Triumvirate
| Triumvirate Ranks | |
| Ranks: | Triarri, Consul, Praetorian |
Consistency of activity is also evaluated, and longevity is important when considering a member for the Triumvirate. Again, please expect to be consistently active with fifteen (15) posts per month. You should also remember to greet newcomers, and thread with new members of the clan.
- The Triumvirate ranks require at least twenty (20) posts per month to achieve.
Legatus
| Legatus Ranks | |
| Ranks: | Optio, Centurio, Aquila |
The Legatus ranks are least about post count—in order to become a leader in Inferni, you must show long-term activity and dedication to the clan. Be helpful and make yourself useful to Inferni. In Character plotting with other members, greeting newcomers and helping them get settled into Inferni after they are accepted, as well as your participation as a member with our clan is looked at. As a whole, we look for people who are friendly, willing to be involved in plots, and good communication are things considered. :)
