Inferni History
Leaders & Information
Inferni is one of the longest-running clans of 'Souls, existing in Bleeding Souls from October 2002 until April 2008. When the fire destroyed the former territories, Inferni was the only group of the former lands to survive the journey over the mountains, and the only group to reform on this side of the mountain range. Inferni's history is rich and laden with numerous conflicts, and one ranked at Veritas would do well to thoroughly investigate the story behind the clan.

Founding History (Yasu Zarah - Kaena Lykoi - Arlo Xyl)
On the 24th day of October in the year 2002, two old friends met on the Hell's Coast. Their names were Kaena Lykoi and Yasu Zarah. The pair had served in a coyote clan together years before, the Darklands Clan. Under Raptor and Svenlia, they wrecked havoc on the wolves of the nearby Salvaje Valley when they dared enter coyote lands. When Kae and Zarah came to Bleeding Souls and met by random chance, it was with delight they began a new coyote clan, just as the one they'd once served in. On Hell's Coast that night, they officially declared the birth of the new Inferni clan.
From the start, Inferni was difficult to control. Coyotes, solitary by nature, didn't adjust well to living in a ranked structure, and Inferni was spread thinly. Under Zarah's rule, they never had the strength to attack or take any grounds, and thus they remained on Hell's Coast. In an unprecedented event, Zarah allowed a wolf to walk among Inferni's ranks. His name was Zulifer Yfel, and he was convinced he was a coyote in a wolf's body. The only reason he was accepted so readily was because he was the lover of Kaena Lykoi. She became pregnant with his children shortly after he was accepted. However, disaster struck in the form of a wolf named Salvaged Eternity, and Zulifer was killed while Kaena slept nearby. Just a few days afterward, Kae gave birth to two children—Maeryn Lykoi and Kerberos Lykoi.
Just about a month later, Zarah disappeared, and Kaena took the reigns of Inferni. Unfortunately, she proved herself ineffectual as a leader, mostly due to her broken heart. She led for a few months, promoting Zarah's adopted son, Arlo Xyl, to her former subleader rank. When her children were almost grown, Kaena departed from Bleeding Souls, intending to leave the kids behind. Maeryn followed her, while Kerberos wandered to Jaded Shadows and was taken in by the very wolf who had killed his father, Salvaged Eternity. Kaena flew into a rage at Maeryn, and killed her just outside of Bleeding Souls. Her body, which was quite similar to Kaena's, caused others to believe that Kae had been killed, not her daughter.
Arlo Xyl, the new leader, raped the leader of Clouded Tears, Kiriska. She became pregnant with his children, but died in childbirth. The new alpha of Clouded Tears, Ceres Sadira, took vengeance into her own hands, and hunted down Arlo and killed him.
Early History (Kidorah Talik - Roane Kinsella)
After a short while of leaderless wandering, Inferni found a new leader, Kidorah Talik. Under her, Inferni flourished and reached new numbers never before seen. At its height, Inferni had eighteen members. The ranks were changed from a simplistic Darklands Clan style to a military, German-language hierarchy. A male coyote named Segodi Mogotsi was promoted to the third-in-command rank, Beirant. Yasu Zarah returned to Inferni, and took a low rank. She was raped by a coyote, and gave birth to three children—Layla Xyl, Kyran, and a third, unknown child. She decided to take vengeance on Ceres Sadira, but realized she likely would not make it out alive. So, she left her three children to Zero, the alpha male of Storm, and went to what was her demise.
Kaena returned just eight months after her departure, taking a low rank in the clan she'd once ruled. Kaena took a wolf lover again, much to her own disappointment. She kept him secret for a while, but when she discovered she was pregnant with his children, she decided she did not want to raise them alone, and asked Kidorah for his acceptance to Inferni. For the second time in its history, Inferni accepted a wolf to its ranks. His name was Ahren de le Poer, and he was the son of Damian de le Poer, alpha male of Chimera, and Thavardo, rogue leader of the Azathoth clan. The night the young wolf was accepted, Kidorah, Kaena, and he traveled to Chimera, where they burned Ahren's father's cabin to the ground in a display of bravado.
Kidorah became pregnant with Segodi's children, and to save face, the two became mates. A bad drought hit Bleeding Souls shortly after, followed by a famine. The coyotes of Inferni were affected particularly badly, since Hell's Coast was not populated by much prey to begin with. Kidorah and Segodi took the clan to different areas in search of food and water. They discovered that the Yawrah river snaked through the Crystal Caverns in places, and was still a viable source of water.
In late August, Kidorah and Kaena each gave birth to litters of puppies. Sadly, Kidorah's was half stillborn, with just two puppies surviving: Nyika Mogotsi and Tedros Talik. Kaena gave birth to a large litter of eight: Ikatha Lykoi, Baneesh de le Poer, Corona Lykoi, Molochai Lykoi, Vitium Lykoi, Rikka de le Poer, Gabriel de le Poer, and Conway de le Poer. The mated leadership of Inferni began to have problems, and eventually they ended their mateship. Kidorah began wandering around Bleeding Souls aimlessly, questioning her own reasons for coming to the region in the first place. Segodi promoted himself to the second-in-command rank, Zweiten.
Kaena and Ahren, too, began to consider their own relationship, and ultimately ended it on somewhat friendly terms. Ahren remained in Inferni until a lone wolf killed his son, Baneesh. Segodi threw him out on suspicions that the wolf had killed his own child. Ahren found a relative of his, Mab de le Poer, leading his former pack Chimera. She left the pack to him. Within a week of his exile from Inferni, the new alpha ran into Kidorah, and Ahren informed her of what had happened in Inferni in her absence. She went back to the clan, and took a steadier role in the clan. The leadership patched up a little, and solidified, despite its sharp drop in number with the onset of winter.
In April, Kaena became pregnant again, this time with the children of a mysterious coyote named Astaroth Kimaris. He told Kaena that he was the devil incarnate. On the sixth of June, Kae gave birth to three children—Ahemait Lykoi, Samael Lykoi, and Razekiel Lykoi. She raised them with the help of her eldest son, Molochai Lykoi. Around the beginning of summer, Kidorah disappeared, leaving Segodi to lead Inferni by himself. He did so for quite some time. During Segodi's reign, the ranks were again adjusted, abandoning the ranks Kidorah had established in favor for a less confusing system. The coyotes traveled all the way to the Concrete Jungle to research the new ranks. Kaena disappeared shortly after the birth of her children, taking her son Molochai with her. Shortly after, Segodi, too, departed. He left an old friend, Roane Kinsella, in charge. Over the fall, Inferni's numbers had dropped to just six coyotes. Roane found he had difficulty adjusting to a leader rank, and was on his way out of Hell's Coast when he ran into Kaena Lykoi, who was returning (alone) to Inferni, in the hopes that she could reenter its ranks. Roane revealed his plans to abandon Inferni to Kaena, who was more than happy to take the Legatus (leader) rank for the first time in nearly two years.
Middle History (Kaena Lykoi - Gabriel de le Poer)
Shortly after her sudden acension to power, Kaena again changed the ranks. She simplified Segodi's system and integrated jobs into her ranking system, allowing coyotes to keep their specialty as they advanced in the hierarchy. She organized an attack on Areyms, and successfully drove them out of the territory nearest to Inferni. Kaena formed a weak sort of alliance with Jaded Shadows, based mostly on her own relationship with Fatin Kali, never evolving to anything more than the respective leaders of the clans helping one another out. Not long after this, Kaena found herself pregnant again—this time, by the leader of Clouded Tears. This changed nothing, and she delivered four healthy children in July. She remained active in her role as leader until the end of September, when she began to spend more and more time away from the clan. Towards the end of October, this trend became permanent; Kaena left without a word. Leadership of Inferni then transferred to Gabriel, her eldest son.
For several months, the clan's numbers juggled before reducing, leaving only relatives bound to each other by blood or marriage. Several incidents of violence occurred, including an attack on Storm's alpha, Phoenix. Then the clan seemed to quiet, threatened by internal dissent. For the second time, one of Kaena's children was exiled—Andrezej, who had attacked several clan members. Things remained quiet; Rachias returned to Inferni, and Faolin Mogotsi and Gabriel de le Poer had three children, though only two survived. Things seemed to be settling into a pattern.
One night, however, Gabriel left the beach and started the fire that consumed Bleeding Souls. He led his clan out, though in the process they lost several members, including Arkham Lykoi, the leader's half-brother. When Inferni crossed the mountain through a cut, they found themselves the first in a strange new world.
New-Inferni + The Dahlian War (Gabriel de le Poer - Anselm de le Poer)
Gabriel soon came across a relative, Anselm de le Poer, who assisted him in exploring a territory known as The Waste. Inferni soon claimed these lands and reformed, proving themselves to be the strongest of all the groups from the land over the mountain. They began to spy on the wolves in the area and adopted a policy of treating all wolves as hostile.
The causes of the Dahlian/Inferni war can be traced to one specific incident and the effects that it had. On April 23rd, Mew Sadria crossed the borders of Inferni and was attacked by Asphyxia Holocaust—unfortunately, Mew, who was pregnant at the time, had a miscarriage due to the stress of the confrontation. Her brother, Haku Soul, upon learning of the incident, took it upon himself to avenge her. The wolf hunted down and assaulted Asphyxia, leaving her on the borders of Inferni. That same night, fueled by the mad desire for vengeance, he struck again—slaughtering a mother and child inside Inferni's land and leaving them on gruesome display. Gabriel and Anselm found the scene when they returned to Inferni that night, and it could not go unpunished. The two went to Dahlia de Mai and killed two wolves, and thus began the conflict that became the war.
Gabriel began to take more and more leave from the clan, attacking strange wolves without provocation. It did not take long for the other wolf packs to learn of the war blossoming between Inferni and Dahlia de Mai, and their leaders came together to form alliances against the clan. Ahren de le Poer, Gabriel's father, warned his son of this matter and offered his assistance as a spy, given that he was a full blooded wolf. Gabriel accepted, but did not inform his co-leader or clan of the decision.
On June 17th, Fatin Kali, godmother to Gabriel and Faolin's children, came and again warned Gabriel that the packs were allying against Inferni. She had spoken against such a thing and become a marked woman, and was departing that night. The Aquila sent his children away with the woman, and things began to turn vicious between the two warring groups. On the first of August, Dahlia de Mai led a full-out attack on Inferni. In the aftermath of the skirmish, both sides realized they had gained a hostage—Inferni had taken Firefly Sadria, the mate of Haku, and Dahlia had Talitha Lykoi, Gabriel's daughter. Furious, Gabriel eventually realized that they had reached a stalemate and a little over two weeks later ended the war by trading the two hostages. The packs agreed on a non-aggression pact, but tensions remain thick.
While things settled, personal reasons caused Anselm de le Poer to depart Inferni without any explanation.
Phoenix Valley Tensions (Gabriel de le Poer - Corona Lykoi - Ryan de le Poer)
After Anselm's departure, Corona Lykoi took his place at Gabriel's side. Since the war, Inferni kept to itself, as was Gabriel's intent all along. In December, Corona found their half-brother, Jasper, on the borders. She invited him to stay with them, which Gabriel agreed to after finding that their father was dead.
Tensions continued to remain high between Dahlia de Mai and Inferni, though Gabriel knew that a full out war would be impossible despite Haku's threats, due to the agreement he and Dahlia's leader, Cerclee, had worked out. Anselm's daughter, Ryan de le Poer began falling in love with a member of Phoenix Valley, DaVinci, who began to come to and cross the borders of Inferni. Gabriel would not stand for such a thing, and warned the boy repeatedly to stay away. After Iskata Sadira's daughter by Samael Lykoi was found wandering alone by Gabriel's son, Ezekiel, the girl was brought into the clan after Gabriel saw how irresponsible her mother was. After two weeks, DaVinci, who had been panicked over his sister's disappearance, found the girl and demanded she return home. Gabriel refused, citing the poor parenting she had been receiving. DaVinci left in a huff and returned to Phoenix Valley empty handed.
Iskata would not stand for such a thing. Blind as she was, she found her way to Inferni and demanded the return of her daughter. Gabriel refused. When the woman suggested that he was responsible for Faolin's death, the Aquila snapped. He attacked her in a fury and ended up killing the former Matriarch. He hid the crime and said nothing of the matter, not even after Faolin herself returned nearly miraculously.
DaVinci came to Inferni once more, and furious, Gabriel wound up attacking the boy. He then went to Phoenix Valley and threatened the Patriarch, which led to the two of them having a fight. Though no official war was declared, tensions between the two groups remained high until DaVinci vanished from Phoenix Valley. Most of the tension then evaporated, leaving Inferni in relative peace. At some point, Corona took off again, and Ryan de le Poer, Anselm's daughter, was promoted to the rank of Centurion to fill her place. During the spring, Kaena Lykoi returned to the clan, citing chasing Eris halfway across the globe as her reason for disappearing. She quickly reintegrated herself into the clan's hierarchy, climbing to Veritas over the summer. Anselm also returned to Inferni, as did Samael, who had been presumed dead. Sadly, his daughter Ryan departed from the clan shortly after, presumably following DaVinci to seek life outside of 'Souls.
Recent History (Gabriel de le Poer - Kaena Lykoi)
During the summer, a strange occurrence had all of Inferni quite riled up. A strange lone wolf, acting by himself, had been smashing their bones and other decorations along the border, as well as trespassing onto their land several times. The coyotes determined this by scent, and one afternoon, Gabriel, Kaena, and Anselm discovered a tuft of fur nearby a shattered skull, evidence they'd been visited by the wolf again. A short time later, however, the wolf was caught—nicknamed Bastardo by Anselm de le Poer, the loner was cornered and summarily executed, the honors carried out by Halo Lykoi, who was promoted to Hydra just after the kill. During this time Kaena Lykoi also succeded Ryan to the second-in-command post, reclaiming the second-in-command position she'd held at Inferni's first inception.
The fall season brought two influxes of new coyotes, most of whom did not stay to see the winter. The exceptions to this would be two familiar faces and two unfamiliar face—Rikka de le Poer and Razekiel Lykoi, both children of Kaena Lykoi, and Cotl Ulrich, a strange Germanic hybrid with a penchant for bodily modification and Snake, a stoic young warrior who quickly rose up in rank. Another, stranger addition to the coyote clan was Vieira Lykoi, not a Lykoi by blood, but a half-sibling of Razekiel and Samael through their father. Though many of the newcomer coyotes were quick to move on, these remained longer than the others, integrating and reintegrating themselves into Inferni once more.
The fall also brought tragedy to Kaena's life—in late October of 2009, she was raped by the the Dahlian wolf Haku Soul, causing months of strange behavior from the Centurion. When winter came, she finally revealed to Gabriel what had happened to her, sparking his fury immediately. He fetched his half-brother Samael and headed for Dahlian territory, unsuccessfuly making an attack on Haku's life. The very next day, Gabriel called together the coyotes of Inferni to declare war on the neighboring pack, reigniting the conflict that had had seemed to end only a year and a half prior. Inferni's numbers began to grow exponentially, and the clan soon found itself with the highest recorded membership—with thirty-two coyotes, they began to plot their vengance against Dahlia de Mai and Haku Soul.
